Muse Boutique Hotel Bangkok

Rising high above one of the city’s most desired residential districts, Hotel Muse brings to Bangkok a heretofore unknown hedonistic experience: a hotel dedicated to the golden age of travel and the most opulent of art

U Hotel Resort Sukhumvit Branch Bangkok

U Sukhumvit hotel enjoys a prime location in the heart of Bangkok’s business and dining area in Sukhumvit Soi 15. The overall interior and architectural design concepts are created with a modern living lifestyle in mind but featuring unique local touches.  All 82 rooms ranging from 30-40 sqm and other facilities are luxuriously appointed with the comfort of U brand’s unique concept of service.  Facilities include a themed all day dining restaurant, rooftop swimming pool, gym, library and free wi-fi.
Our Review
When you drive down the alley on Sukhumvit 15 with the taxi driver asking probably his way, you might worry about your choice…but soon when you arrive at U hotel, you can immediately feel at home. This newly open Boutique Hotel will seduce you by all its additional details & free services. Here, no hassles, friendly service, nice environment and decoration, small but efficient rooftop infinity swimming pool, so you ‘ll find yourself enjoying your time immediately.
We went for their Deluxe room, a 38 sqm well designed and spacious space with a very comfortable bedding.Their “plus” free services we like the most are definitely the “whenever wherever” Breakfast, here no stress, whenever you wake up, if the breakfast time has passed you can order your breakfast where you want: room, swimming pool etc… You have a free wifi in all the room and an interactive TV with which you can connect your device with bluetooth and play your own music. Among our favorite is the 24 hour check out. Example: you check in at 8 pm the day of your arrival, then you’ll have the room till 8 pm the day of your departure… a must for us.
The location of the hotel is at the end of the Sukhumvit 15, which can seems far from everything but it’s finally just a 5 minute walk from the chaotic Soi 11 if you want to find some restaurant or chilling at the Nest Rooftop. The hotel offer free bikes if you want to go around, and with their free Tuk Tuk service you can reach Terminal 21 in 5 mn, where there’s the BTS Asoke and the MTR line. For the most adventurous you can take the river boat (on your left when you exit the hotel at the end of the Soi) and you can reach Central World in 4 stops.
Verdict:
U Sukhumvit Boutique Hotel is a very good treat and pretty well located in the heart of Bangkok , we had wonderful time there and their “plus” services really makes the difference, we liked the free Tuk Tuk and Bikes at your disposal, that makes your stay more enjoyable in a city where it can be hassle to find a taxi meter.
A very good value for money for this new boutique hotel, we hope they will keep on with the quality and for sure we’ll be back!

Maggie Choo’s Bangkok

Maggie Choo’s

Maggie Choo’s is the latest venture by Thonglor’s Nightlife baron Ash Sutton, known for his out-of-the-box high concept venues such as Iron Fairies, Mr. Jones, Five and The Bookshop with Bed Supperclub’s founder and Creative Director, Sanya Souvanna Phouma.
Located in the basement of Novotel Fenix on Silom road, just a few blocks from the Chao Phraya River, Maggie Choo’s is an authentic Thai-Chinese restaurant serving street food staples and nibbles, which connects to a derelict 19th century East India Company depot converted into a cocktail bar and cabaret which provides live jazz acts along with dance music and adorned with a crew of stylized Asian female models, posing or acting, thickening the mysterious Far Eastern vibe that transpires from the atmosphere.
Maggie Choo’s caters to discerning guests who are looking to be entertained in style and in a surprising environment, which embraces the best of past and modern forms of divertissement.
Our Review
When you get down the wooden stairs at Maggie Choo’s you can immediately feel another ambiance and that you are stepping in a very special place… Welcome to the very magic world of Maggie Choo’s. You’ll have the feeling that you have lost yourself in a movie tournage decor of a big adventure movie production.
The restaurant looks like an old chinese auberge from the past…the food here is delicious; presentation is simple yet very original.
We had the Egg Noodle with Roasted Red Pork, Crispy Roasted Pork and Boiled Egg Served with Soup and Steamed Dory Served with Stir Fried Wide Rice Noodle in Dark Soy Sauce, and it was a blast of flavor.
Go through the second door and discover the bar with its colonial era comptoir decor. At 9pm, enjoy a mini show with models in traditional Chinese Qipao. When the show ends, they will then take place all around the area as a “live decor” and make a very unique ambiance with their fans and bubbles…
Drinks prices varies from B 200 for a beer to 2000 for Champagne, through “not to miss” signatures cocktails between B 280-350.
Cocktails are made with loads of flavours, try the Lady Flora a blend of Vodka, Lemon Juice and Sauvignon Blanc topped with Candy Floss. Like it more fruity? Go for the Haymarket Hector a perfect mix of white rum, pomegranate, molasses and sparkling wine.
Verdict:
Maggie Choo’s is definitely one of the best bars in Bangkok with an impressive decoration and choice of cocktails, the models make the plus and really gives a special ambiance. We really loved the food there, the taste can easily compete with five star chinese restaurant in Hong Kong.
